Welcome Home!

Weekly #58

Constant Contact Message from 4/27/2021

‌Hello everybody,

From my stepfather Phil’s hospitalization last Monday and death on Tuesday to his funeral yesterday, this has been one of the most difficult weeks of my life. It has also been one of the most graced. I cannot express deeply enough how profoundly grateful I am for the many kind words and prayers you have shared, as well as, my thanks for the many of you who came to the funeral home, offered food and other assistance, and stepped up to welcome Phil’s family and friends following the funeral at the rectory. A special word of thanks to the staff and Fr. Steven for all of their support, which allowed me to be with Mom as often as she needed me. Thank you, all!

Over the past year, I have been grateful for the service and leadership of the Pastoral Council and the School Board. In particular, my gratitude is extended to those members who have extended their terms to provide stability and continuity in these uncertain times. We are moving forward with a transition for some new members this year. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for a three year term to these important groups, please do so with the hard copy forms at the welcome desk or through these links (School Board and Pastoral Council).

We also had a moment of great celebration and joy this week as our School and PREP second grade students celebrated First Communion. It was uplifting to see their excitement and anticipation for this significant step in their faith journeys. I congratulate them and thank their parents and all who had a hand in the celebration and preparation. It is also Derby week and I hope you have the winner! School is out on Oaks Day, the parish office will close at 2:00 p.m., and we won’t have the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass on May 1st. Life is precious and I hope you can experience joy when it comes. Prayers and thanks, again.

Peace,

Fr. Jeff
